History of development
The DHA known as Lahore Cantt Cooperative Housing Society (LCHS) in the 1970s. The Society overseen by an Executive Committee (MC) of 11 to 15 members. A bylaw law pass in the 1980s that empowered military officers to select members for the MC and formulate policies at the General Assembly. The High Court transferred the power of MC to the Lahore Corps in the 1990s. The LCCHS subsequently transform into the Defense Housing Authority, first through a provincial ordinance, and then through a federal order in the late 2000s.
Planning and development
Lahore divide into several phases, and each phase further divide into blocks. The blocks are further classified according to the size of the plot area. There are approximately 11 phases, of which phases 1 to 6 are fully developed and settled, while phases 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 are in development by January 2020.
